‘Top class faculty! Covered both the established and cutting edge new treatment methods, supported by evidence! Case discussions were very educational! The workshop sessions were exemplary!’
Excellent delegate feedback Thank you for making 2019 event a success!2019 Symposium: 220 registrants worldwide!
The prevalence of diabetic foot disease is increasing with rising diabetes rates worldwide. At the same time, the treatment options have significantly advanced, with limb preservation now becoming the gold standard aim.
We now have the privilege of welcoming you to the Multidisciplinary and Surgical Management of the Diabetic Foot 2020 symposium. As the treatment options have significantly advanced more recently, it has now a reality that functional limb salvage is possible for most diabetic foot deformities that were routinely offered major amputations in the past. Modern concepts in diabetic foot deformity reconstructive surgery are now well established with reliable and predictable outcomes.
The symposium this year will focus on giving you an update on the emerging as well as proven concepts in diabetic foot surgical management, with an emphasis on the primary prevention and surgical reconstruction of the diabetic foot. The comprehensive programme will provide the practitioners with an evidence-based approach to the podiatric, medical and surgical management of the diabetic foot.
This year’s meeting objective is to provide a comprehensive cover on the multi-disciplinary approach to the diagnosis, modern nonoperative treatment, complex wound care methodologies and the established as well as the most recent advances in the surgical management of Charcot foot and ankle deformities. Internationally eminent speakers will stimulate discussions that will act as a forum for conversations on the current variations in successful treatment methodologies and stimulate a lively debate on the modern foot preservation and salvage strategies.
The programme is aimed at orthopaedic surgeons, vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons, diabetologists, general physicians, podiatrists, diabetes specialist nurses, CCG clinical leads, general practitioners and all members of diabetes foot networks or diabetes clinical networks.
This symposium will be followed by full day of cadaver workshop on advanced surgical reconstruction techniques on Charcot midfoot deformities.
The Multidisciplinary and Surgical Vascular Management of the Diabetic Foot symposium was awarded 12 and the cadaver workshop 6 CPD points by the Royal College of Surgeons for 2019 and we expect similar type of accreditation this year too.
